hello there pupils,

i banged this one out for my girlfriend. it’s our anniversary on sat. we decided to give each other self made presents this year so ye... the concept basically came from my girlfriend complaining about too many instances in modern-day society where people are portrayed with animal heads. “let it go i told her” but she wouldn’t. so that’s why.
used the oil wash technique again. this time iused a nib though. the light in the photo kinda washed out the monkey, it’s actually darker.

le random concept

Hey dudes, how are you all? This is a vague concept I've had bouncing around in my head for a few years, so I though I should do something with it. More to come!

just a little painting

hi! just thought i would give evidence that i have been doing stuff. this painting is obviously unfinished im giving it a rest cos its really pissing me off. its taking too many hours and im not happy with how its going. the only thing i agree with are the colours im really digging cotton candy mmmm... i want candy.....the photograph doesnt do it any justice either. its a lot more brighter. i hope to do a series of portraits- taking reference from my fruits magazine a japanese street fashion photography book. i want my subjects to look more animated perhaps with elongated necks- the eyes always end up too big anyway i seem to always exaggerate the eyes i like pretty eyes.

This is another baby that I drew over the last couple of nights in front of the box - total class.
Just thought id through it up on here. My old man said the baby's head looked like a mans... I think he's right! I'm keen to start painting something, I'm just heaps no too sure what yet... hit me back with some suggestions. cheers big ears!

St. Bernard painting

Painting animals has never been my forte so i've decided to give it a go. I guess it was also because i could not think of a celebrity to paint. The thought of it made me squirmish but i jumped right into it during the weekend and this was the end result. It's not quite finished yet because i'm not sure if i should leave the background as it is, or paint something else behind the dog. *thinks very hard*

Finished hand study

Finally got around to finishing this hand study, don't know why I kept putting it off. Reasonably happy with it, but I know there are a few issues with some of the fingers. As an overall piece I think it looks pretty good though. Feel free to disagree with that...

Maybe I'll get rid of that apple, not sure if I like that just yet.

...I hate hands.

Hey, um what do you guys think of this fight club concept... composition and what ever hasn't been considered much, so thought I'd put it up here for help. Edward Norton leaning on desk, Brad Pitt in shiny desk reflection. too obvious? any ideas?

Sketch

So... this is a super quick sketch I've put together (it's Julian from the Strokes). There's gonna be some crazy fluoros and things.. well that's the plan anyways, we'll see how it goes. I'm just not quite sure on the placement of the face in the background... should it be higher in the corner? Well, I didn't spend much time on the sketch as you can tell, so I would love any feedback. I just wanna start painting!

By the way... this blog is very motivating and there's some awesome stuff going up!

BABIES

Hey troops,
hope everyones holidays are going well, two weeks in and I'm already bored! ha!
um... haven't really been doing anything, then logged on here and thought gee wizz, I better get my pencils out! Just a couple of little, basic sketches. And no I am not getting clucky, just really want to create something with poor children or something. Yeah, no idea really... any suggestions, I am all ears.....

another self portrait, this one for life drawing class. took about 5 hours!

WIP: Hilarie Burton

Found this one a challenge but I'll get there...somehow.

Hands!!

Hey people
Just thought I'd post this sketch of a quick study I'm doing. I suck at drawing hands so I figured I might as well use my time off to practice. I have absolutely no idea how well I will be able to paint hands however, so this is a shot in the dark. Feel free to tell me if you think there are any major gaffs in the sketch. I have weird lookin hands anyway, so it could just be me. Anyway, I'll post it when its done. I'm gonna work some sort of visual interest into it, but what that is i haven't decided yet.
Catch

Hey guys here are two new pics,
One is a copy of some celebrity photo
dunno what her name was, was a kewl pic though
all painted in acrylics and the second is a skecth for
another acrylic painting.
