Just messing around

Still trying to improve on form and faces. I love using ink and pens so I though that it's high time I start using them when practicing these elements. Pencil is like a comfort blanket and I won't really improve if I don't start to use the medium I really want to work with.

The first image of my siblings and myself so many years ago. I'm relatively happy with it.. though there are a few issues with the faces. The likeness for my self and little brother is close but I made my sister look like one of Shrek's children. Heh. Until I can manage to draw her my sister is refusing to acknowledge that I can draw in any capacity.


The second is just a simple image of a female body I took out of my clothing/anatomy book. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, though I need to keep refining my skills with ink and pen.

Got the reference from a 2008 surf photography mag. Wanted to try drawing water and it's sure tough.

Hope everyone had a good christmas! Trying out a James Jean technique. Blue colour pencil and a white chinagraph on cardboard. I thought of drawing one shoulder but what the heck, do the rest. Shoulders do look a little off though but it's just my first try on this technique. Have a good new year peeps!

back to acrylic. finding it real tough going, makes me appreciate the computer. the last couple are unfinished as yet.

Ho ho ho, merry christmas boys and girls! Hope you're all having lovely times with your folks and not eating too much. Some face studies, all with pencil. I think I'm going to focus on inks and pen as my main pursuit, I reckon I'll give the paints a miss for awhile. Cracking!

I recently did this for work mate who just got married... as a gift. its pretty avo but with charcoal i kinda went beyond the point of no return. lol. oh well. Also, i got a wacom for my birthday! tis so freaking hard to use, everything looks terrible! i think i need to hang out with one of u master and watch just how its done! hope everyone has a good chrissy! ox

Yo dudes and dudettes, just to let you all know I haven't died yet - got me some sketch faces to put up here hopefully tomorrow. I'm working full time atm, packing goat carcasses plus other meat and cheeses. Yay. This, I'm finding, is wrecking havoc with drawing stuff.
