Hey guys - just had me ripped a new one on Concept Art - I think I'm going to delete my account with them. I'd much rather have crits from people - you dudes - who are serious about helping and not just having an opinionated slam. Arr, discouragement. And screw the art world too. I feel like going underground for awhile, so I'm not sure if I'll post stuff I do for some time, though I will hopefully. Depends on getting the head straight again...... Keep up the sweet pieces my friends, wicked to see your improvement.

Yeah some people over at those kind of forums can be pretentious wankers, but others do give out some great advice, it's just a matter of sifting through the rude and the helpful. But don't let them put you off mate. Keep posting on our blog at least. This is the summer where we can really make some strides. I've seen you make some huge leaps this year mate.
hey man just searched around CA looking for what happened and yeah i can see the crit that the guy gave you was delivered in not a very good way at all but seriously dude you would be shooting yourself in the foot if you were to delete your account from that site because there are really great artists there who can truly help you, god knows we've all been critted to death ive had a couple of really nasty ones that have hurt me personally but the thing is though, i know it may have sounded bad from your point of view but if people dont say anything about room for imporvement in your work then they pretty much dont care at all, thick skins are needed and yeah im sure if you pm'ed some of the more professional artists on the website and asked for their opinions i think you might get a better response then what you got in the critique centre, like i have seen a massive leap in your abilities over this past year man and i think everyone has, just gotta keep on trucking dude and try not to let anything get you down becasue we all know you have the will power and the passion to get desirable results not only for yourself but for others aswell. sorry if i raved a bit mate but yeah kepe on posting man!!! looking forward to it

dont get discouraged man. the hard times can be there to learn from, I know you can come out of this a stronger, better illustrator. keep up the good work.
Hey stu. Our work will always get criticised in the industry. That's how we pick up and improve. Of course, there'll be some nasty critics. But you can't let them get to you. Don't give up and just keep posting. You're doing heaps of good work and improving.

I hadn't thought about getting in touch with the more professional artists on CA - I guess I have to bite the bullet and ask for their opinions. It is a thick skinned industry eh? Character building and all that...
